New Brew MP Version Builds on Success from Number-One Most-Downloaded Brew App; Safeguards and Restores Users' Mobile Phone Content after Phone Loss, Damage or Upgrade
SAN DIEGO, Jul 01, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- FusionOne, the established leader in mobile content portability, today announced that the company's MightyBackup(TM) solution has been integrated with and optimized for Qualcomm's Brew(R) Mobile Platform (Brew MP(TM)), as part of Qualcomm's 3Pre Program.
MightyBackup stores and transfers mobile phone content, such as contacts, photos and videos, and purchased content. It enables users to manage their stored content via an online web interface and if necessary, remotely purge their content from lost phones to keep their personal information secure. With MightyBackup, subscribers get continuity, security, and easy data protection and migration; content developers maintain and grow revenue streams; and carriers can build customer goodwill and improve retention.
"With tens of millions of downloads coming from a tier-1 carrier branded version, MightyBackup is already the number-one most-downloaded Brew app, and this Brew MP-enabled version builds on that success," said Mohan Sadashiva, senior vice president of marketing at FusionOne. "With more than 80 percent of mobile phone users in the U.S. still on feature phones and looking to transition to smartphones in the near future, the need for an efficient service that ensures a smooth transfer of content is more important than ever."
According to Sadashiva, the Brew MP version of MightBackup is currently available as a carrier-branded application. It is backward compatible with older versions of Brew and offers integration capabilities for Brew application developers.
